I teach Taekwon-Do because I love the lifestyle and believe in sharing it with others. Taekwon-Do is more than just self-defense—it's a path toward becoming the best version of yourself. It’s about cultivating discipline, living with positivity, and passing on a legacy that helps build a more peaceful world.

I began training in Taekwon-Do in 1994 and have spent about 9 of my 17 active training years teaching others. In 2019, I founded Valley View Taekwon-Do in Longview, Washington. We are proud members of the United States Taekwon-Do Federation (USTF), and I continue my own training under Sr. Master Mason of Mountain View Taekwon-Do.

Outside of the dojang, I'm a proud father of six (plus the occasional bonus kid) and a full-time video producer. My professional background includes work on films, video game trailers, advertising, and thousands of hours of technical training content across a range of industries. When I’m not teaching or producing, you might find me drawing, painting, writing, playing video games, doing DIY home improvement projects, or photography.

Mr. Walling started at Valley View Taekwon-Do in the beginning of 2019 and has become an important part of the school. Mr. Walling received his I Dan in October of 2023 and his II Dan in February of 2025 and has trained under Grand Masters at Sereff World Camp. Outside of Taekwon-Do, Mr. Walling is pretty darn handy. This mechanically inclined martial artist works on cars and commercial vehicles and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors.

Mr. Hopkins has been with Valley View Taekwon-Do since 2023 and is a shining example of teaching with the mind. Mr. Hopkins always shows up, whether in uniform or not, to support our school, help others, and root for his fellow students. Mr. Hopkins is a II Dan black belt and enjoys doing patterns before class. Mr. Hopkins comes from a family of black belts. Outside of Taekwon-Do, he enjoys spending time with Mrs. Hopkins and the grandchildren.
